THE SECRET OF LEGALLY USING SONGS FROM MOVIES IN YOUR VIDEOS

And it can cost you less than $0.50 per selection! (newly updated 40 CD's)

I realize it’s been frustrating; trying to legally use songs from the movies in your videos, demos, productions, video yearbooks, even in your own low-budget movies. If you haven’t looked into it, it’s a real shock - you are talking about at least -

$3,000 to $90,000 for permission to use someone else’s song!

That is if, and when, you get approval.

It takes big money and sometimes a month or more to get clearance. If you are a big producer... that’s pocket change; but if you are a low-budget producer and want a big budget sound, you are left out in the cold. Very often, normal royalty-free music just won’t do for what you are working on.

I’m sure you have been told, “you can’t use music from the movies in your productions because it’s been copyrighted". And that is true - to a point. What you may not know, and nobody wants to tell you, is that some movies use music whose actual tune, although the production and performance is copyrighted, is in the public domain.

What this means is, if you have some time on your hands and some talented, studio musicians, you can re-record that public domain music and you own the rights to the same music you heard in the movie! Legally with no copyright costs!

With MovieMania, you will be able to use some of the music you have heard in the movies

Movies like Ordinary People, Bad News Bears, Dave, Breaking Away, 2001, Fantasia, The Four Seasons, The Sting, 16 Candles, Stripes, Sleeping Beauty, Pee Wee Herman’s Big Adventure, It’s A Wonderful Life, Phantom of the Opera, Primary Colors, When Harry Met Sally, Clueless Westerns, Our Gang comedies, Grapes of Wrath, Wayne’s World... and much more!

The aforementioned are just a few titles; there are more movies that use the tracks recorded on MovieMania.

Please note that for the most part, all of the music used in these movies is not public domain, but some of it is, and even if it is just one familiar tune that’s important because, the public will recognize it, and that gives your video production instant credibility.

National commercials use this music to get instant acceptance. They don’t always want to fuss with a song that they have to get the rights to produce. Often, it’s easier to get a song that many people will know. That’s why the promotion for Honda, and also ABC Broadcasting, both used The Blue Danube waltz. NBC used Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

You may not recognize the name, but... everybody knows it when they hear it!

Just the other day I saw a commercial for Vandecamp’s fish sticks and Eureka Vacuums. Both used songs that are also on the MovieMania CDs. You will be surprised how many of the cuts from MovieMania you will hear and say, “Oh yeah, I’ve heard that before.” And just think. you don’t have to hire anyone to record it. All the work is done for you.

Now you can use this music everyone knows in your video productions!

On the MovieMania CDs there are some of the most popular and recognizable pieces of music that are used again and again in movies from comedies and love stories to action movies. Because we did our own versions of these songs, you get to use them royalty-free for anything your production company does. This would make MovieMania worth getting all by itself, but the collection also has what we call...

Familiar Sounds and styles

We know that most movie music is not in the public domain, that is why we’ve also included “Familiar Sounds” music that is in the style (or parody) of common themes.

For example, take the instrumental piece “Adventure Man” It’s an original tune which combines the elements used in about every action/adventure movie you have ever seen.

Movie scores are written with these elements because the producers know they cause the viewer to respond in a certain way.

Familiar Sounds also includes:
“Winning Champion” in the style of those motivational adventure, overcoming-the-odds movies we love so well.
“Ocean Madness” will fit about all those ocean movie scenes you want to spoof.

“Probable Spy” gives you the suspense you hear in all kinds of spy movies.

“70’s Disco Fever” the familiar sounds of those “Saturday Night Fever"/Disco dance movies.

“Sci-Fi Madness” great for your sci-fi scenes or parodies.

“Born to Ride” a great tune for people on motorcycles and very funny if you use it on adults riding trikes in fast motion.

“Hippystock” A piece that gives you the 60’s flavor all over again, with a freedom/country feel.

And many more!

National producers create music like this all the time! Now you can own some of this familiar music to use in any and all of your productions at one low cost Royalty free.

Attention non-linear editors!!

Chances are you now have the ability to create video that goes very fast or very slow. It looks really great, too! The only problem is, what do you do for your audio tracks? What music do you add over it?

Solution: MovieMania has included music that is ideal for sped-up fast and slow motion segments.

These tunes are used by major commercials to add humor or illustrate a period style, (ie. Old Wild West, 1890’s New York, funny scenes, etc etc).

With MovieMania you also get:

The Lone Ranger theme (William Tell Overture), The 1812 Overture, and many famous classical pieces that make your production work perfectly in either slow motion or in a wild rush. You also get some ragtime and honky tonk piano licks that are great for making your black and white fast segments look like old silent movies. And you get The Saber Dance (that song you always hear when some crazy entertainer is trying to balance a bunch of plates on sticks all at the same time/great for humorous videos!) The Comedian’s Dance (another famous funny piece) and many others are included which are great for adding humor in your fast-moving videos. For slow motion segments, we include Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Spring Morning, and other slow motion tunes which can be used for both funny and serious slow motion segments and of course the ever popular Blue Danube waltz (hands down used in more commercials in the last 15 years than any other tune on the planet.)

The bottom line is:

Your slow motion and fast motion segments will become much more effective with MovieMania!

But wait! There’s more...

On the MovieMania CDs, you will also get popular background styles. This includes the most popular circus music, parade music, and “Help! I’m being chased” music that has been used in Hollywood movies. MovieMania also gives you the similar background music that you have heard in the movies: flowing strings, upbeat contemporary, sad piano. You name it, we made a piece for you to use to help set the mood for any scene. And you get to use it royalty free.

Why hasn’t this been done before?

Let’s face it, really creative musicians are usually the ones behind buyout music; and if they are going to invest their time and effort making royalty-free CDs, they want to hear their own creations in their own styles. This is great if you want good regular buyout music.

But if you want something different, it has to come from videographers first, and musicians second.

MovieMania took a couple years of research to find the popular titles that movies makers used that are public domain. Then, they had to be recorded again to be in this buy-out music collection that you can legally use for your own productions.

The MovieMania team interviewed over 100 videographers and asked them what type of music they wanted. Most started out with “I want something that sounds familiar, something similar to this...”, “Give me an action theme, a love story theme, a space movie theme.” So we listened, and gave you the most popular requests.

Whenever possible, you get the familiar-sounding music plus the public domain tunes used in the actual movies. (Songs like “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”, “Red River Valley”, “Beethoven’s Fifth”, “Auld Lang Syne” - all of which are familiar pieces and would be great for a video production. Yet, if you get a CD which includes any of these pieces at a record store, you still cannot legally put them on your videos because... although the song is public domain, the recording isn’t!

However, when you purchase the MovieMania CDs, you get a royalty-free license; so for you, both the song and the recorded performance is in the public domain which means

You can use these recordings on as many of your own productions
as you want and not pay one cent in royalties.

One of Elvis’ most popular songs was a slow song that many brides request for a first dance, but what Graceland won’t tell you is that... the melody is in the public domain.

Movie Production Secret Saves Big Bucks

How often do you see a movie or TV show that pretends to be in an exotic location? For example, take a series show that shoots an episode in Mexico. Do you really think they went to Mexico to film an episode? Do you really think James Bond went to Russia?

Of course not! They went to the backlot studio, dressed it up, and to make it seem real, and they used music from that particular country. This is called “theme-setting music.” It fools the mind into thinking that the action is in a far-away country, even if it is not!

Ever notice how much Caribbean music you hear on the old show The Love Boat? 98 percent of the boat scenes from that are not filmed on a boat either; it’s an indoor set. Deep down you knew, but one reason you can suspend your belief is because of the music.

Now on MovieMania you get royalty-free theme music from around the world! Music from France, Germany, England, the Caribbean, China, Russia, Israel, Ireland, India and more! Now you can create that low-budget production you have always wanted, just for the fun of it!

But wait. it gets even better! You know how movies are always using popular singers for their soundtracks? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could have music for your own productions that has the same sound style you are used to hearing on the radio? With MovieMania you also get instrumental music in styles similar to: James Brown, Willie Nelson, The Police, Van Halen, John Denver, Fats Domino, Steely Dan, Yanni & Madonna just to name a few.

Plus you get a variety of other styles such as: bluegrass, gospel, blues, latina, Mexican, country, fusion, easy listening, new age, disco, big band, reggae, Gypsy, 60-70s rock, Indian and more!

You also get Transition Music: IF you are making a TV show and need that 4-12 second openers and closers we have them on disk 12Over 30 styles to fit every need, also perfect for corporate title segments.

But again, that’s not all!!

Film Makers / Life History producers

If you are doing your own film and need a score that is “happy”, “sad”, “sad to happy”, all in one, a love theme, patriotic, action, or scary sequence, we have music to fit all of these scenes on the MovieMania 40 CD set.

Event shooters Editors - Graduations etc

If you are doing photo montages and need perfect tunes, we have them . We also have a great graduation tune for laying under interviews that segues into a sentimental version of Pomp and Circumstance. It’s all on the MovieMania 40 CD set.

TV show producers / Corporate videographers

If you are doing a sports or history show or need a news theme or a Spanish/Latin flavor theme, we have them. A “Behind the Band” rock anthem for enhancing your voice over we have it. A long corporate piece for showing “manufacturing in action” we have it all on MovieMania 40 CD set

Putting your demos on the internet?

Your website is accessible to millions of people. Using copyrighted music on your website demo is definitely not a good idea. MovieMania gives you the audio tracks you can use on your website demo video - forever, with no royalties to pay.

Why such a low price for all that music ?

We are aware that many videographers have small budgets to work with. A collection like this normally could easily cost $2000 or more. We know that price is too high and some would be tempted to illegally copy. Shocking, I know, but it does happen. We wanted to make the price low enough so that every videographer would want to own MovieMania, and feel proud to have legal ownership of movie songs. At this price it’s less expensive than buying non-legal versions from the record store! Affordable and legal.

Shortcuts to Great Productions - Instant Cueing on the popular sections

I know as a videographer you can’t be scanning through long orchestra pieces to find the part everyone uses. That’s why on many selections we have started the music at the part you need. For example: The William Tell Overture, Scott Joplin’s “Solace” or Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet” We start them right at the popular part every producer uses and needs. Who cares about the other 15 minutes when you need the most popular 3 1/2 minutes! This makes it easy for you to find the right piece of music just by listening to the start of each song. This also allows us to get this many songs on one CD. Now of these string based cuts are orchestrated with synthesizer, but throw them on your video and they will go great with the image and mood you are trying to create.

Quality + Variety = Production Success

Not only is the quality good, but so is the variety of the instrumentation. I would hate to get a set of CDs that were recorded with the same 6 or 7 instruments. That would be boring and lifeless. On MovieMania we used up to 30 different instruments on each track, while leaving a few tracks just simply piano. This means each song has a different feel from the last; each uses different instruments and styles for excellent quality and variety. Sure there is a little of that synthesizer sounding techno beat stuff, but you also get real music with live musicians! Different musicians and bands were used for different pieces. Each cut is from 1 to 4 minutes in length (the transition pieces are a bit shorter).

Odds are you are not going to love EVERY song on the 40 CDs, because every taste is different. But even if you use just one selection from on each CD that you use, it will pay for itself time and time again. If you hired someone to create just one music piece, it would cost you thousands in time and production fees. The rights to songs could cost tens of thousands. With MovieMania, you get over 300 pieces music pieces plus styles, themes, intros and endings and parodies styled to fit your needs.

The regular price is $499 for this collection so please do not bid more than that.
